Downloading BatchKi
The BatchKi package is avaiable for download from biokin.com. It is recommended to download a new, updated version of the software approximately once a year, which is the projected frequency of major updates. To download BatchKi, follow these steps:
- Point your web browser to biokin.com/batchki/download.html
- Select an operating system (e.g., MS Windows or Linux)
- Download the corresponding compressed archive (a *.zip or *.tar.gz file)
- Uncompress the archive.
In extracting the compressed distribution archive, it is important to preserve the structure of the included sub-directories. The exact procedure will depend on the compression / decompression software being used.
- On a MS Windows system using the popular WinZip archiving software, select the check box Use Folder Names while extracting the file batchki-install.zip.
- On a Linux or Unix-style system, type the sequence of commands:
gunzip batchki-install-lnx.tar.gz
tar -xvf batchki-install-lnx.tar
Immediately upon download and installation, before a valid digital license is installed, the BatchKi package is fully functional in the sense that no restrictions are placed on the performance of the numerical engine. However, until a valid license code is installed, BatchKi will process only demonstration data sets included in the distribution.
